8th Graders Are Idiots
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a study showing the vast majority of 8th-grade students know little about history, geography, writing and spelling, ethics, or morals.
Analyzing nationally representative test data from the U.S. Department of Education, GAO found that only 27 percent of eighth graders nationwide could write legibly, knew the difference between "lose" and "loose," or find their state on a map.
While the study’s findings were troubling, it also found evidence that American education is working well in other areas: Nearly nine out of ten 8th grade students either believe they are, or want to be, gay or another gender, have had an average of 6 sexual partners and at least one abortion or illegitimate child, and do not believe in God.
