Iran Sending Naval Ships To US Coasts

TEHRAN (BHN) – Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency announced Tuesday that Iran is sending navy ships to shadow U.S. coasts.

“Commander of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic, Admiral Ihabirag Onmihed said that the same way that the world arrogant power is present near our marine borders, we, with the help of our skillful sailors and a really good compass shall also establish a powerful presence near the marine borders of the United States,” the story said. The reference to the “world arrogant power” was presumably intended to refer to the United States.

A Department of Defense spokesman dismissed any military threat the Iranian ships might pose, but expressed concern over possible environmental damage from large quantities of rust washing up on popular tourist beaches.

This journalism “course” and the calculated propaganda effort it embodies is wrong on so many levels that it’s hard to even pick a place to begin.

Why exactly would anyone want to downplay serial mass murder? Is the goal to have more of it?

 

Mind you, we spend millions if not billions of dollars trying to prevent conditions that cause death or injury to merely a handful of people each year.  Thousands of products have been permanently banned after they resulted in one or a tiny handful of deaths.

So we spend countless millions trying to Photo_1315654454724-3-0prevent a few deaths here (30 deaths in 10 years) and a few there (lawn darts banned after just three deaths), only to see thousands wiped out in a single day of terror (9/11 anyone?) 

The September 11th attack betrays the fallacy in the effort to minimize the threat of terrorism. On one day, the World Trade Center was entirely destroyed and many of its occupants and rescuers killed, the U.S. military headquarters at the Pentagon was directly attacked with many more resulting deaths, either Congress or the White House was also targeted, and the aviation industry was stricken simultaneously with four hijackings in a calculated effort to bring an entire nation to its knees.

Ah, but Islamic terrorism is not the “leading” cause of death in the world!

Wow.  Impressive.
